The Writing Institute is proud to showcase our former students at this special poetry evening. You'll hear from poet Marion Brown whose books include The Morning After Summer and Tasted. Meet Carla Carlson, whose poems have appeared in many journals, and hear from her debut book Love and Oranges. Linda Hillman Chayes, a poet who explores language and memory and marriage, will read from her book The Lapse. Don't miss Caroline Holme whose first book Cold Crumbling has recently been published.

Our poets will be introduced by their Writing Institute instructor, Elaine Sexton.

Elaine Sexton's third collection of poems, Prospect/Refuge, is just out with Sheep Meadow Press. Her poems, reviews, essays, and visual work have appeared in numerous journals and sites including American Poetry Review, Art in America, Poetry, Poetry Daily, and O! The Oprah Magazine. A former editor of ARTnews, she is a member of the National Book Critics Circle, and an active micro-press editor and publisher.

Whether you love poetry, or are thinking of picking up a pen yourself, come experience the community of writers at The Writing Institute. We look forward to meeting you!
