Sarah Lawrence College

Bronxville, NY 10708
United States

Instructors: Colleen Ennen and Lucy Walker
Length: 5 sessions
Thursdays,  4:00 PM - 5:45 PM

In this course, we’ll explore what makes good writing work through poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. We'll brainstorm ideas, work on our artistic voices, develop stories with energetic structures, write a lot, play some games, but most of all we'll discover the fun and joy in writing. Students will explore their craft and engage creatively and critically with each other. We’ll support each other through free writes, exercises and workshopping. We'll also read a number of published pieces and talk about what works and what doesn't. Students will get hands-on experience with everything they need to write their stories, poems, and essays.

**All levels of writing experience welcome. Students can use this class to write a piece that is as long (or as short) as they choose.
