    Instructor: Kathy Curto
    Length: 1 day intensive, $225
    Saturday, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

In this workshop we will examine a favorite or provocative photograph and ask, Why is this image part of my story? What is it about this picture that nudges the memory? Is it your mother’s beehive, your baby’s smile, the station wagon with wood grain siding, the gaudy velvet wallpaper, or maybe the scotch and soda on the table next to your father’s recliner? Using a few simple writing exercises, we will sort through answers to these questions and then write a short memoir piece. It will be not only the photograph itself, but also the wondering and reflecting, that will shape our written work. Writers of all genres and levels are welcome and students should bring a copy or original of their chosen photograph to our session. We will share our work (and some refreshments) in the final hour.
