Semester @ SLC: Writing, Dance or Theatre

Thank you for your interest in Semester @ SLC! The application to apply for our semester-long programs in Writing, Dance, or Theater can be found below. Please read the following instructions carefully.

1. Please complete all fields.
2. We also ask for a few additional items to be uploaded, including school transcripts. We do not require official copies of school transcripts--you may upload copies or scans of your own copies of your transcript for the purposes of this application. However, we will ask for official copies upon admission into the program, and any discrepancies may be grounds for revoking the offer of admission.
3. In addition to uploaded documents, we also ask for several short answer essays below. There is no word limit, but we recommend responses of 250-500 words per response. If your responses are longer, we cannot guarantee all text will be visible to the application reviewers.
4. We recommend writing and editing your short answer responses in a word processing program, then copying the text into the text box. There is no way to save your progress on the application before submitting, and once submitted, cannot be edited without contacting our office.
5. Students interested in a combined dance and theater program should apply through the dance program.

Below you will be able to upload some of the materials required for your application to be considered complete. If you do not have these materials at the present time you may emailed to semester@sarahlawrence.edu.

All applicants are required to provide a faculty letter of recommendation. This recommendations should come from the instructors and preferably be on institution letterhead and come from a professional email. These recommendations should be emailed to semester@sarahlawrence.edu.

If you are applying for the Theatre or Dance programs, you are additionally asked to provide a brief self curated sample of your work. If you are submitting a video we ask that it be no longer than five minutes in length and emailed to semester@sarahlawrence.edu. If your video is currently hosted on another website you may email us the link directly as well.
