    Wrexham Road Reading Series: Bethany Ball, DeMisty D. Bellinger, Elijah C. Nealy, & Ines Rodrigues On Their New Books & Who Inspire Them To Persist in This Time Of Political Resistance

    We're thrilled to welcome these four writers to our campus. Hear them read from their new books and share who inspires them to persist in this time of political resistance. We'll also have postcards & op-eds for you to write & other activities after the reading.

    Bethany Ball received her MFA from Sarah Lawrence College. Her first book, What to Do About the Solomons, will be published in April from Grove Atlantic. She was born in Detroit and lives in New York with her family.

    DeMisty D. Bellinger, a Milwaukee native, teaches Creative Writing, Women's Studies, and African-American Studies at Fitchburg State University. She holds an MFA from Southampton College and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Nebraska. Her chapbook, Rubbing Elbows, is forthcoming from Finishing Line Press in the summer of 2017.     Elijah C. Nealy, PhD, MDiv, LCSW, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work and Latino Community Practice at University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT and clergy with Metropolitan Community Church. As an out transgender man, he has spent the past 25 years working extensively within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities.     Ines Rodrigues is a Brazilian writer and teacher for whom multiculturalism is a way of life: she grew up in Brazil, where she worked as a journalist and radio host, before moving to Italy to attend the University of Perugia. Later she lived in London and finally, married to an Irishman, landed in New York, in time to give birth to two American kids. Her novel, Days of Bossa Nova, will be published on May 27th by Black Opal Books. Ines is also a Novel Writing Instructor at The Writing Institute, teaches Italian, and since 2015 runs The Scarsdale Salon, a literary event at the Scarsdale Library.
