We all have a unique story to tell, but how do you access it and what form should it take? Is it a short story, a novel, or a memoir? Is it for children or adults? Or maybe you’re well into a draft, but not sure where to take it. Through a process of writing exercises, mind-mapping (a brainstorming technique), plotting, and outlining, we will stimulate creativity and map out our visions. Writers come away with a clear sense of his or her writing goals and a complete outline. Open to writers of all levels.

Veera Hiranandani earned her MFA in creative writing at Sarah Lawrence College. She is the author of The Whole Story of Half a Girl (Delacorte Press), which was named a Sydney Taylor Notable Book and a South Asian Book Award Finalist. She is also the author of the chapter book series, Phoebe G. Green (Grosset & Dunlap). A former book editor at Simon & Schuster, she now teaches creative writing and is working on her next novel.
