Are you in the middle of a first draft? Second, third, or when-will-this-be-over draft? Have you already written scenes but need help stringing them into a story? This course will keep you from getting stuck during the writing process with weekly craft lessons on topics like point of view, dialogue, plotting, character arcs, and sustaining tension. Writing prompts will also help you get to that finish line without getting tripped up by writers’ block. You will receive feedback from students and instructors in a supportive workshop setting so that you can bring your writing to the next level. 
 
Eileen Palma’s debut romantic comedy Worth the Weight was selected as a compelling read from an emerging author for Barnes & Noble’s Nook First program and has won multiple awards. Eileen performed her essay “The Moskowitz Girl” at WritersRead at Chelsea’s Cell Theater, and has read at The Lady Jane Salon, a romance fiction reading series in Manhattan. Eileen's views on balancing motherhood and a writing career have been featured on The Balance Project. Eileen’s essays on motherhood have appeared in Blunt Moms, The Momoir Project and Her View From Home where she is a regular contributor. She has a dual B.A. in English and Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and is an alumna of The Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College. www.eileenpalmaauthor.com
 

Ines Rodrigues is a journalist, writer and a former radio host. Her work has appeared in Marie Claire and Elle magazines and she read her stories at the conference Journeé Du Monde, in France, and also at WritersReadOnline in New York City.  She is one of the creators of The Scarsdale Salon, a literary event at the Scarsdale Library. Her historical fiction "Days of Bossa Nova" is published by Black Opal Books. Ines is also an alumna of The Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College. www.inesrodriguesauthor.com.

Please keep this email for your records.  Details about room assignment, parking, and any other information relevant to the course will be emailed to registered students the week before classes begin.
