    ADVANCED POETRY WORKSHOP - NEW!
    Instructor: Elaine Sexton
    Length: 5 sessions, $400
    Wednesdays, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    (No class November 25)

This advanced poetry workshop is for experienced poets who want to deepen their engagement with their writing and learn fresh ways to approach, refine, and revise new work. With craft in mind, we will look at the shapes your individual poems make on the page and how they relate to subject matter, how the best poems find their structures, and explore what constitutes the best “containers” for your ideas.  Part tutorial, each student will have the opportunity to discuss their own projects in conference. At the end of five weeks, you will have five new ways to look at your poems.

Elaine Sexton third collection of poetry, Prospect/Refuge, is just out with Sheep Meadow Press this month. She has taught in several colleges and universities including the graduate writing program at City College (CUNY), the Sarah Lawrence College, and New York University. She serves as the visual arts editor for Tupelo Quarterly, and is a member of the National Book Critics Circle.
